The Costume Closet opened its doors on October 1, 2012. The Costume Closet stemmed from the work and experience of Susan Slater, Photographer.

Susan has been a professional photographer and photography teacher for 18 years. Susan also started working in the costuming industry in 1999 at Boston Costume. Hmmm, put the two mediums together and you have The Costume Closet, a place where magic happens!  As our slug line says, "Not just your average costume store!"

Costumes, masks, wigs, make up, and even a full service photography studio and local art sold. We are a small boutique of sorts with selected costumes and accessories.

We do change stock with the seasons and are learning what everyone wants for theme parties, pub crawls and events! We are so excited about our location on South Howard Avenue, blocks from Gasparilla!

We have Christmas costumes, decorations and hats as well as costume and character rentals for events.  Not in the holiday spirit? Then rent our Grinch costume!  

We are also gearing up for Gasparilla with all sorts of your usual and unusual pirate stock for you to get your pirate on!

If we do not have what you need in stock, we will try our darndest to get you what you need! You can rest assure, we aim to please because it is just so much fun to costume the world over!
