Yoga 101: Virabhadrasana III (Warrior III)

All yoga postures have different ways of challenging our mind and body. In Warrior III your balance and strength are tested in a struggle between your physical and mental state.

 Attempting to balance on one leg is a difficult process for the physical body, but it is very good to cultivate strength and balance. As we age, our balance can become more difficult, so it is important that we do postures that involve balancing.  Staying calm and dealing with the mind chatter while your body is level with the horizon is a learning process for the mental body.  Because of these challenges, Warrior III is a posture that can reveal many things about your practice and focus.  Like Warrior I and Warrior II, the warrior postures invoke the inner warrior and help you confront your own obstacles. Yoga Tampa Bay's 60-Day Challenge

The 60-Day Yoga Challenge can help you find inner peace and change your life forever.

Nathan Bangs, founder of Yoga Tampa Bay and the Rasa-Lila Fest, created the community event on Facebook that has over 100 people across Tampa Bay committing to practice yoga five days a week, for nine weeks. “Building the yoga community in Tampa Bay has always been a passion of mine. I started the 60-Day Yoga Tampa Bay Challenge to pull the community together with one goal in mind: Unity." This challenge is a perfect opportunity to give you the gift of yoga. You can take a class at a studio or you can practice at home. Yoga is an ancient art form that melds with all races and religions. Yoga Studios' Merger Is a Good Move for Tampa Bay

The entire Tampa Bay yoga community stands to benefit when Tampa studios The Lotus Room and Bella Prana combine forces in 2012.

I see the union of The Lotus Room and Bella Prana yoga studios as fate weaving the two strong women and owners of two strong studios together into one fine garment of a yoga studio in 2012.  This week, the fine fabric of the plan was revealed to teachers, staff and students of The Lotus Room, 1101 W. Kennedy Blvd., and Bella Prana, 2408 S. MacDill Ave. The two South Tampa studios will merge in 2012. This is big news in the Tampa Bay yoga community. Roni Sloman, owner of Bella Prana, and Ali Mazza-White, owner of the Lotus Room, are joining together to create a new space and a new opportunity to unite the yoga community in Tampa Bay.
