Admiral at MacDill Was Runner-Up on TIME's Person of the Year

William McRaven, the head of U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base, was on the list of TIME's Person of the Year, MyFoxTampaBay.com reports.

The head of U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in South Tampa was runner-up for TIME magazine’s Person of the Year, MyFoxTampaBay.com reports. Navy Adm. William McRaven, who led the secret SEAL helicopter raid that killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan last May, came in second behind “The Protester.” TIME reports that McRaven commanded the operation against the al-Qaeda leader while briefing President Obama in real time as the operation unfolded.
