Cru Cellars Creates Wine Garden for Patrons

The wine bar and shop on MacDill Avenue opened two years ago, and has become known for its small production wines. They've also started serving brunch. Now, Cru Cellars is using its outdoor space as a wine garden, allowing patrons to sip wine and chat under umbrella tables or host private parties. Outdoor spaces at local businesses are rare in south Tampa, setting the business at 2506 S. MacDill Avenue apart from others when the wine garden opened in September. "There's not a lot of quiet and serene places to sit outside in south Tampa," said Jennifer Bingham, who owns Cru Cellars with husband Torrey Bingham. Palma Ceia boutique wine shop and bar Cru Cellars will debut its new food menu during a kickoff party featuring wine specials and live music from 6 p.m to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. Cru Cellars partnered up with chefs Hope Montgomery and Jason Ruhe of In Bloom Catering to expand the menu from cheese and charcuterie to savory small dishes freshly prepared and created to pair with selected wines. South Tampa residents can now shop for organic fruits and vegetables at Cru Cellars. The Palma Ceia boutique wine shop and bar, which offers fine wines, cheeses, charcuterie and desserts, recently teamed up with Fruit of the Vine Organics to offer baskets of fresh and organic produce. Options include a mixed bushel or mixed half-bushel of fruits and vegetables or a half-bushel of fruit that folks can order in advance and pick up at the store at 2506 S.
