It's Tampa Police vs. Tampa Firefighters For a Good Cause

The Badge Bowl IX, a flag football showdown hosted by Tampa Bay Buccaneer Earnest Graham and Bucs legend Derrick Brooks, will raise money and spread awareness about children's cancer.

The men and women of the Tampa Police Department and Tampa Fire Rescue share much in common, all of them putting their lives on the line each day to help people stay safe. But this Saturday, May 6, they'll be pitted against each other for a good cause. Tampa's police officers (aka the "Gladiators") and firefighters (team "Firestorm") will square off in Badge Bowl IX, an annual flag football game that raises money and spreads awareness about children's cancer. Paint for the Cure Raises Money and Awareness

A South Tampa business and a group of local business women team up to paint, network and raise money for a local charity.

Several times a month the Working Women of Tampa Bay network over dinner and drinks, at luncheons and at other events. Often these gatherings involve much more than establishing business connections. They also offer an opportunity to focus on and learn about local charities. “One shared belief in our organization is that raising awareness about a particular charity or non-profit organization is just as important as raising money,” said Jessica Rivelli, founder and president of the 500-member professional organization.
