Adopt a Duck, Feed a Child

The Lucky Ducky Derby will take place in downtown Saturday, Dec. 17.

From City of Tampa Online:

Adopt a yellow rubber duck for just $5 and you will help provide meals for a child after-school for an entire week or provide weekend bags of food for the children and their family.

You will also receive an entry into the Lucky Ducky Derby on Saturday, Dec. 17,  and have a chance to win exciting prizes! Adopt your ducks by clicking here.

All proceeds will benefit Kid’s Cafe, a program of Feeding America Tampa Bay.

The event will take place at from 10 a,m, to 10.30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at on Saturday, December 17.

In 2010, nearly 20,000 rubber ducks floated down the Garrison Channel, transforming it into a sea of yellow. This year they have migrated north to the where kids will slide about and select the lucky ducks.

Participants will have the opportunity to win great prizes, including Tampa Bay Lightning Luxury Suite Tickets, Tampa Bay Rays Home Plate Club Tickets, a Sony television, a Toshiba laptop and restaurant gift certificates.
