Panthers Head for Collision Course at Armwood Tonight

Plant High football faces its toughest challenge of the year as the two unbeatens settle in Seffner.

The Plant High football team (7-0, 2-0 Class 8A-District 6) faces its biggest challenge of the regular season as its head to Seffner to take on Armwood (7-0, 4-0 Class 6A-District 8) on Friday night, Oct. 28.

The Hawks blanked the Panthers 17-0 in last year's matchup, but Plant is typically a second-half team, and the collision is expected to be epic tonight.

It pits two of the best teams in the state and two nationally-ranked teams against one another. Plant holds the No. 2 rank, while Armwood is No. 5. Ironically, Xcellent Top 25, a national poll, has Armwood ranked No. 2.

Both teams could go on to win state titles, but tonight's game will be looked at as a measuring stick in head-to-head competition.
