Primrose School of South Tampa Breaks Ground on Wednesday

The school will be at 1700 W. Kennedy Boulevard.

Two dozen preschool children, outfitted with hard hats and shovels, will celebrate a groundbreaking for the $6.6 million construction of the Primrose School of South Tampa on Wednesday morning.

The school will provide leading educational child care as well as create 70 new jobs in the community.  The ceremony will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the future location, 1700 West Kennedy Boulevard.

Also attending are City Council Representatives Harry Cohen, Lisa Montelione, Frank Reddick and Mike Suarez along with other community leaders and dignitaries to welcome the new state-of-the-art campus.

Officials project school enrollment at 300 children, with a staff of 50 teachers and a full-time chef.

“We are excited to open our third school in the area, and continue the Primrose mission to provide the highest quality early education and care,” says Owner Jana Radtke.  

Primrose School South Tampa will offer Primrose’s exclusive, standards-based Balanced Learning® curriculum, which supports children’s social-emotional, cognitive, creative and physical development.  

This state-of-the-art, LEED-certified school will serve children ages six weeks to five years old, and will offer an after school program for children up to age 10.
