Tampa Veteran Believes Romney Will Restore Democracy

Frank Katzenmeyer, 77, has been to every Mitt Romney rally in Tampa.

It's not difficult to tell where Frank Katzenmeyer's allegiances lie.

The 77-year-old Tampa resident has plastered Mitt Romney stickers and buttons all over his straw hat.

"I'm a big Romney supporter," he said during Wednesday's Romney rally in Tampa. "I've gone to see him every time he's come to Tampa Bay."

Katzenmeyer also spent three days at the Republican National Convention. In his spare time, he volunteers at the Republican headquarters on Gandy Boulevard, where he answers phones and hands out Romney/Ryan signs.

"I've also spent quite a bit of time on the curb, waving flags and signs," he said.

It's important to Katzenmeyer that Romney be elected next Tuesday.

"I won't be affected much, but I have two children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who will be affected," he said. "I'm doing this for them."

Katzenmeyer said he's concerned about the way the country has been headed under President Barck Obama.

"I was in Germany during the Cold War and saw the affects of communism," he said. "I don't want that to happen here. I believe in democracy, and I just don't like what's going on."
