Financial Woes, Custody Battle Plagued Petraeus Friends Kelley and Khawam

The twin sister of the south Tampa woman whose report of "harassing emails" from former CIA director David Petraeus' biographer Paula Broadwell led to his resignation was plagued with her own custody battle, lawsuits and financial problems, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Natalie Khawam shared some of the same connections to military officials as sister Jill Kelley, which were evident in letters Gen. John R. Allen sent to a court in Washington, D.C. saying Khawam was fit to parent her 4-year-old son, according to the Times.
In recent years, lawsuits and credit card debt plagued Khawam, Jill Kelley and husband Scott, considered south Tampa socialites, the Times said.

Meanwhile, an investigation into "inappropriate" emails Jill Kelley sent to Gen. Allen surfaced this week, just a few days after Petraeus resigned from his post as director of the CIA.
