Thieves Climb Through Bathroom Window to Take Jewelry, Drugs

The incident was reported to the Tampa Police Department.

A South Tampa home was burglarized over the weekend, with thieves escaping with stolen jewelry and electronics.

The incident occurred at 5404 S. Himes Avenue, a few blocks south of Gandy Boulevard, according to a report from the Tampa Police Department.

Someone entered a screened patio at the house and opened a closed bathroom window to get inside, the report says.

Items taken include jewelry, a laptop computer and prescription medications that include "drugs of abuse," the report says.

The value of the items stolen is about $4,500, the report says.
