South Tampa Burglary Suspect Hits Three More Businesses

Tampa Police believe the same suspect who burglarized six businesses on July 23 and 24 broke into three other businesses early this morning, Thursday, August 11.

According to Tampa Police, the same suspect who burglarized restaurants in South Tampa and on Davis Islands in July broke into three more eateries early this morning, August 11.

Police said the suspect smashed a glass panel near the rear door at Kalupa’s Bakery, 2602 S. MacDill Ave., at approximately 1:50 a.m. The suspect pried open an inside office door and left with cash.

At approximately 2 a.m. this morning police said the suspect smashed the front glass door at Datz at 2616 S. MacDill Ave. Once inside he searched drawers and cabinets, but took nothing.

At about 4 a.m. police said that the suspect smashed the front glass door of Subway, 2601 S. MacDill Ave. The suspect pried open an interior office door, but took nothing from the business.

Police believe the same suspect broke into several Davis Islands and South Tampa businesses on July 23 and 24. In several of the burglaries the suspect fled when the alarm went off and officers responded. He left empty handed in the majority of the burglaries.

The restaurants broken into in July were Estela's Mexican Restaurant, Royal Palace Thai, 717 South, the Bungalow, Miguel's Mexican Restaurant and Rick's Italian Café.
