Pop Sound Alerts Family to House Fire

A popping noise prompted children to look outside their home and see flames shooting from the front porch.

A popping sound alerted children playing in the living room to flames shooting from the front porch of their home today, at 113 Amelia Ave. West.

At 12:19 p.m. Sunday, firefighters ecountered smoke and flames when they arrived at the single-story, single-family house, according to a news release.

The three adults and four children were able to safely leave the house just prior to the arrival of Tampa Fire Rescue crews.

Tampa Fire Rescue crews quickly advanced a line and contained and extinguished the fire, according to the news release. No one was injured.
