Man Robs Two Banks in 90 Minutes

Authorities are looking for the man who robbed banks on Hyde Park Avenue and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard this morning.

Tampa Police are looking for a man who robbed two area banks this morning – one in Hyde Park and one outside city limits on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.

Police said the suspect entered the Bank of America at 429 S. Hyde Park Ave. at 10:40 a.m. and presented a note demanding money. The teller gave the suspect money from the cash drawer and a dye pack. The suspect said that he didn't need the dye pack and gave it back to the teller.

The man is described as a black man, age 25 to 30, about 6 feet tall and 170 to 180 pounds. He is clean shaven with a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a light blue button-down shirt, white knee-length shorts with draw strings at the bottom and white tennis shoes.

According to police, the same man committed a bank robbery in Hillsborough County just 90 minutes before the South Tampa robbery.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 9:15 a.m. the suspect entered the Regions Bank at 11804 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. and presented the teller a demand note. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled on foot.
