A marijuana plant was found in a city planter near Tampa Police Department headquarters in downtown Tampa on Tuesday, May 1, according to Bay News 9.
Capt. David Goodman said to the local TV station that the plant tested positive for THC, which is the active chemical in marijuana.
The planter is located on the corner of North Franklin Street and Madison Street, right across form the TPD building, the local TV station reports.
Goodman told Bay News 9 than there could be many explanations as to how the marijuana plant ended up there, whether it was through pollination or somebody intentionally planted it there.
Goodman said the small marijuana plant, just a few inches high, was not mature enough to produce something that could be used as an illegal drug, the local TV station reports.
