According to St. Petersburg Police, Rashida Williams will be charged with second degree murder. The man, who's name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

Police say they responded to the Cove of Brighton Bay Apartments at 10901 Brighton Bay Blvd. NE around 5:30 Saturday morning. Williams had called 911 and told the dispatcher she stabbed her boyfriend in the chest, according to the press release.

Williams is an active duty airman at MacDill AFB, and military investigators will conduct their own follow-up investigation, according to police.

According to St. Petersburg Police Spokeperson Mike Puetz, it appears the boyfriend had only been staying with Williams for about a week, resided outside of Florida before that and is not a member of the military.

Officials do not have any information about the nature of the dispute prior to the stabbing, but will release more information as it becomes available.
