Gas Leak Alerts Fire and Rescue, TECO on MacDill

A unoccupied business in Bayshore Plaza has a gas leak.

Tampa Fire and Rescue are on scene at 3217 South MacDill Avenue in response to a gas leak at an unoccupied business.

Tampa Fire Rescue Hazmat crews confirmed the natural gas leak in the area and evacuated the surrounding businesses.  TECO and People's Gas are on scene and working with Fire and Rescue attempting to isolate and repair the leak as well as monitoring air quality in the area.

There have been no injuries reported. There is no further information at this time as to how long the plaza will be shut down.
