Kennedy Boulevard Reopened After Crash, Gas Spill
An 18-wheeler and a police vehicle were involved in the crash that previously closed a portion of Kennedy Boulevard closed this morning, May 2.
Kennedy Boulevard between Dale Mabry Highway and Hale Avenue is back open this morning, May 2. Earlier, Tampa Police closed the roadway to traffic.
An 18-wheeler was attempting a U-turn on Kennedy Boulevard when its driver failed to notice a police vehicle, and crashed. The truck’s tank erupted during the crash and spilled diesel fuel on the roadway, a police media release said.
Hazmat responded to the scene to clean up the spill, the release said.
