Authorities Searching for Suspect in South Tampa Robbery

The Tampa Police Department is searching for a man they say held a pharmacy employee at gunpoint and took medications and money from the register.

Around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, a man walked into 1155 S. Dale Mabry Highway to the Palm Plaza Pharmacy, police say.

Once inside, he jumped the counter and held the employee at gunpoint, police say. Then, he took medications, the clerk's wallet, phone and money from the register, police say.

The man fled in a small gold SUV, which was backed into a parking spot at the pharmacy.

The man is described as black, 6'0, stocky with a muscular build and armed with a small revolver. He was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt, blue jeans, a dark baseball cap, gloves and a stocking over his face.
