86-Year-Old’s Dog Snatched in Front of Her

The Tampa Police Department is trying to help the woman get her beloved pet back home.

Tampa Police are hot on the trail of a woman they say swiped an 86-year-old woman’s dog away right in front of her.

The dognapping took place Wednesday night around 8:30 when the dog’s owner let it out for a short time. As the owner stood watching her dog near their home in the Gandy Boulevard and Dale Mabry Highway area of Tampa, an older model gold Honda pulled up. A woman got out of the car and “lured the dog from the yard,” the police department wrote in its Facebook page.

It all happened so fast, the dog’s owner didn’t have a chance to get her pet back.

The dog is an 8-year-old micro-mini Schnauzer named Feffer. She weighs about 7 pounds and has a surgery scar on her abdomen, a Tampa Police Department spokeswoman said.

Anyone with information about the dog or the suspected dognapper is asked to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130. Tips can also be called into Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS to be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
