Two teenagers were arrested early Tuesday morning after police say they attempted to damage a concession stand at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
Here's what happened, according to a report from the Tampa Police Department:
Around 12:34 a.m. on Tuesday, an anonymous caller reported that two people were trying to break into a concession stand at the park along Ashley Drive in downtown Tampa. Officers arrived and spotted two people who matched a description given by the witness sitting at the top of the stairs at the Tampa Museum of Art.
They duo were in possession of a hammer, a flashlight and two walkie-talkie radios. While in custody, they told police "We were just beating doors and handles."
Damage to the concession stand, door, lock and handle was estimated at about $300.
One teen teen was charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools, and the other was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and use of a two-way communication device during a felony.
