Robot Helpers For Your Home

Robots have invaded and there is nowhere left to hide! These high-tech helpers have been created to make life easier for homeowners and each of these robots is designed to complete a specific task. From overgrown lawns to dirty dishes to fetching drinks, these bots won’t stop until the job’s done (or they run out of batteries).

For The Lawn: Those unbearably hot summer afternoons for new homes in Tampa Bay can sure turn lawn maintenance into a miserable chore. Enter the eco-friendly and efficient Robomow Lawn Mower. This battery operated lawn-mow-bot can cut up to 17,200 square feet of grass, while also redistributing healthy nutrients back into your lawn.  It also comes with anti-theft protection and can be programmed to maintain a consistent mow schedule.

For The Pool: Cleaning the pool is a time daunting task, so why not sub the work out to a machine? The iRobot Verro Power Scrub 500 can clean your entire pool in about 3 hours, while also re-circulating 70 gallons of water a minute, all while expanding the lifespan of your pool filer. Another robot with similar features is Hayward’s SharkVAC .

For Maintaining Your Home’s Exterior: Say goodbye to dirty and clogged gutters with the iRobot Looj 330. Controlled by a remote, it quickly travels down your gutters, cleaning them out so you don’t have to. Home builders in Tampa often construct homes with many windows for design purposes and to let in natural light. However, trying to reach the tops of those tall windows is never easy, and usually involves finding a ladder to climb on. The Windoro WCR- I005 robot offers single and double pane window cleaning skills and can last up to 2 hours on a single charge.

For Home Security: With robot protection you can feel safe leaving your home unattended. WowWee’s Rovio has a mobile webcam that allows you to monitor what is going on inside your home from anywhere using internet connection from a computer, cell phone or video game console. You can either control Rovio manually, or set a scheduled path for him to patrol.

For The Litter Box: Scooping out the cat box is a messy and smelly job, but somebody’s got to do it. With the Litter-Robot, taking care of your pets has never been easier. This robot cleans and levels litter, and the waste box only needs to be emptied an average of 2 times per week. Or if you want to stop pet messes all together, you could always just get a WowWee RoboPet. They make a great companion, without the responsibilities of caring for a pet.

For House Parties: Entertaining guests will never be the same after you invite Chassis The Drink Serving Robot. This automated cocktail waiter can fetch drinks for you and your guests. Chassis also comes with a built-in keg that is capable of dispensing beer. When it comes to serving beverages, this robot is the ultimate bartender. Just don’t ask it to check ID’s, it has no facial recognition capabilities (yet!).

For The Future: Personal robots will be hitting the market soon, and will be programmed to complete a wide range of home-related tasks. Willow Garage’s PR2 can do just about anything, including completing a laundry cycle or playing a competitive game of pool with you (watch video below). Intel’s Butler-Bot, HERB is still in design mode, but will be trained to cook, wash the dishes and clean up after itself.  The Asimo by Honda takes on human characteristics, and can even pour and deliver drinks. The E-Nuvo Robot is being designed to help tutor children and spark educational growth, but they may be home-schooling our children someday. These innovative robots will sure be able to help around the house, for a hefty price.

With recent technological advancements, we may be seeing a robot in every home in the near future. It is a possibility that robots could take over the world someday. But for now this high-tech home takeover is benefiting us and our homes. From a Tampa new home builder perspective, we recommend incorporating a large staircase in your home’s floor plan. This way if a robot attack occurs, you have a better chance of survival since it can be somewhat difficult for robots to climb stairs. With the exception of PETMAN, we’re all in big trouble if this robot goes rogue!
