How do I find a lot? What size lot do I need? How much does a lot cost? Should I use a Realtor or look on my own? How do I find out before everyone else? How do I learn about For Sale By Owner (FSBO) lots?
These are all great questions and we’re here to help you get the answers. There are a variety of ways that you can find a lot. You can use the assistance of a Realtor, drive neighborhoods and get the word out yourself, or use the Javic Lot Finder service. My suggestion is to use all three of these methods. In highly competitive real estate markets like South Tampa, Snell Isle and many other areas of Hillsborough and Pinellas, we would advise you to use every avenue you can to find a lot. Here are our thoughts on these three channels.
Use a Realtor

Realtors are a great source of information on lots. Make sure you work with a realtor that knows the neighborhood and area that you are targeting. They will often know of available lots before they are listed though their networks.
Do It Yourself

You can do a lot of work on your own, especially if you’ve narrowed down your criteria like location, lot size and price. Spread the word among your friends that live in that neighborhood. Walk and drive the area frequently. We’ve had several customers successfully knock on doors and mail owners directly. Be creative.
Javic Lot Finder Service
If doing it on your own seems like too much time and effort, another option is our Lot Finder service. We maintain a database of all the available lots that we know of. It includes lots from the realtor Multiple Listing Service (MLS), For Sale By Owners and lots from other sources. It’s currently available for South Tampa, but may expand in the future. Once we set up your account with your criteria for price, lot size and location, you’ll receive an email whenever we add a new lot to the database that meets your criteria.
