Five Things To Know Today - Thursday, Sept. 15

Here's a Patch roundup of interesting things to know and do.

1.The Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network's 18th Annual Independents’ Film Festival presents original, undiscovered films by independent filmmakers. This year’s festival takes place Sept. 15 to 17. 9Presented by the Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network (TBAE), all films and workshops will be held at TBAE studios at 703 N Willow in Tampa.

2. The Henry B. Plant Museum’s Museum Store is having its Annual Veranda Sale today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sale goods include Christmas items, table wear, porcelain, jewelry, greeting cards and books. Sale tables will be set up in front of the Museum.

3. The Jan Kaminis Platt Library hosts "Yoga 101: Intro to Yoga for Adults" with Lindsey Cox of Lucky Cat Yoga. Cox will introduce basic yoga postures and breathing designed to boost energy. Bring a mat or towel and wear comfortable clothing. 6 to 7 p.m. No prior yoga experience needed.

4. You'll be seeing red, white and blue at the star-spangled “Block PAWty,” a free neighborhood pet party with live music, pet photos and raffle prizes. Proceeds benefit The Humane Society of Tampa Bay. PAWty takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the courtyard at the Snow Circle Shops.

5. Weather Watch – Sunny Thursday with a high of 92. It’ll be mostly clear in the evening with a low of 74. For more information, visit the National Weather Service website.
