We recently talked to the boutique's owner, whose nickname is the store's namesake, about what she thinks of south Tampa's fashion scene and what made her decide to start her own business.

On why she opened her business: There were a lot of spaces open that were vacant. It wasn’t super expensive, and it was an opportunity to bring different designs to Tampa - mainly accessories. I'm introducing Elaine Turner's line, based in Texas, which is new to the Tampa area. It's shoes and handbags.

What items are offered at the boutique: I am a buyer for the store, so whatever catches the eye that Tampa doesn’t have. I have pieces from local jewelry makers. I have scarves, clothing from the Black Halo line in New York. I have clothing from TT Collection. I hope to bring in MCM handbag line to Tampa.

Where she gets her items: I basically scope out different designer stuff, up and coming designers, trade shows. I browse through their merchandise. If it's something I like, I place an order.

Her opinion on south Tampa's fashion community: It's pretty casual. It's not too far from the Miami look. Jeans, nice tops and shoes. Flip flops. Every woman has a handbag of some sort.
