Attorneys For South Tampa's Jill Kelley Fight Back in Petraeus Scandal

The South Tampa socialite's legal team is fighting back with letters, complaints, emails and phone records to salvage her reputation, the Huffington Post reports.

Attorneys for Jill Kelley, the South Tampa socialite involved in the recent David Petraeus scandal, are fighting back by releasing emails and phone recordings they say prove she never tried to exploit her friendship with the disgraced CIA Director, the Huffington Post reports.

According to the news site, Kelley's legal team sent a letter to the U.S. Attorney's Office this week demanding an investigation to find out who in the FBI leaked her name to the media. The news caused a media frenzy at her Bayshore Boulevard home.

Her lawyers also filed a cease-and-desist letter to a New York businessman who accused her of incompetence in her work trying to broker deal with South Korean companies. Kelley lost her appointment as an honorary consul for the South Korean government, which she had gotten because of her friendship with Petraeus.

Kelley's attorneys also filed a complaint to the Florida Bar against Tampa attorney Barry Cohen, who the Huffington Post reports accused her of name-dropping and of being a social climber.

Kelley, 37, was an unofficial social ambassador for South Tampa's MacDill Air Force Base, hosting numerous parties for the officers.
