Gulf Coast Commercial Grows Big with New Office, Jobs

Gulf Coast Commercial, West Florida's premier commercial real estate and business brokerage firm, is positioning itself for major growth in 2013.

Gulf Coast Commercial, (GCC) West Florida’s premier commercial real estate and business brokerage firm, is positioning itself for major growth in 2013 with a new Ybor City location and several new positions. “Commercial real estate is recovering quickly and our business has picked up tremendously this year,” said Scott Dobbins, Managing Partner and Founder of the Tampa-based Gulf Coast Commercial LLC. Dobbins is one of three partners at the commercial real estate firm, which branched into business brokerage last year.

“Our revenues are up by 20- percent from this time last year, and transaction volume is trending up as well- especially in the past 60 days,” Dobbins said.

He credits the increased demand for buying commercial property and businesses to a shift in baby boomers’definition of retirement. “The generation that is retiring right now doesn’t really want to traditionally retire; they are buying and creating new businesses, and along with those businesses, they’re also creating jobs.”

The new GCC office in Ybor City is located at 1600 East 8th Ave., Suite A-106. The rapidly growing commercial real estate firm brought on four new agents last year, three already in 2013, and has plans to bring on an additional two in the next six months to keep up with demand.

“The floodgates have opened up again as Northerners descend upon the Sunshine State,” said Justin Boudreau, a partner in the firm who specializes in commercial leasing. Boudreau is currently leasing space at One Progress Plaza in downtown St. Petersburg, the location of GCC’s St. Petersburg office.  “They’re coming to purchase properties in the Tampa Bay region for the lifestyle and the economic climate, which is getting better and better every day, and we see Ybor City and St. Petersburg as emerging markets with good growth potential,” said Boudreau. That coupled with GCC’s expansion into the business brokerage field in 2012 fueled the firm’s need to add staff.
