Wawa Planning a Spring Opening in South Tampa

If you're a fan of Wawa, here's something you may not already know:

The chain gas station and convenience store is headed to south Tampa next year.

The location at Gray Street and Dale Mabry is part of a "wave" of stores opening in Tampa Bay, said Colleen Labik, public relations coordinator for Wawa.

Construction at the site began in October, and the store is slated to open in May of 2013, Labik said. The building will be 5,636 square feet, Labik said.
