Scholarship Drive for Calyx and Beau Schenecker Begins Monday

Two years ago, Calyx and Beau Schenecker were fatally shot by their mother, authorities say.

Since then, a memorial fund scholarship drive at GrillSmith restaurants, begun by their father, Parker, has been held in their honor.

This year, a portion of proceeds from meals eaten at GrillSmith from Sept. 30 through Oct. 4 go toward the Schenecker Memorial Fund, which supports culinary arts education in Tampa Bay.

GrillSmith locations are in South Tampa, New Tampa, Clearwater/Countryside, Brandon, Lakeland and Carrollwood.

Last year's scholarship drive raised $8,500 for the memorial fund.
