MegaBus Under Fire For Violation

The low-cost bus company servicing Tampa is the subject of a complaint by the City of Orlando.

A popular Northeast intercity bus carrier with newly introduced Florida routes is accused of violating Orlando law.

MegaBus, which advertises fares as low as $1, began service between major Florida cities in May with a Tampa-Orlando route. In Orlando, the company is subject to a complaint for violating a city ordinance.

According to documents obtained by 10 News, Orlando’s code enforcement department says the carrier for did not obtain permission to put up tents or port-a-potties at its Orlando area stop, erected following customer complaints.

The bus company is scheduled to stand before the city’s code enforcement board July 18 to remedy the issue.
