Centre Club's 'YES' Committee Connecting Young Professionals

With its high number of professionals, Tampa Bay has no shortage of networking organizations or groups designed to connect the business community.

But few are targeted for the 40-and-under demographic.

That's where the Young Executive Society comes in.

The YES committee, run through downtown Tampa's Centre Club, recently held a social event to let curious business professionals in on what they hope will become a go-to group to meet their needs.

We recently talked to Loran Tripp, creative strategist for Latitude 27 Marketing and vice chair of YES, about the group's desire to partner with other organizations and how people can get involved.

Patch: How did the idea for the group come about?

Tripp: We all just kind of met and threw out ideas for what we felt was going to represent the group well. The group is people under the age of 40 who are leaders in the community and members of the Centre Club.

Patch: What's the purpose of the group?

Tripp: The tagline we are using is 'fostering the next generation of leaders through work and play.'

Patch: Why do you think its important for south Tampa's young professionals to have their own committee?

Tripp: One great thing about the location of the Centre Club is you can pull people from Pinellas and Tampa. I think there's a lot of great networking groups out there ... It's about connecting other young professional groups in Tampa.

Patch: What's your hope for the committee?

Tripp: My hope with it is to create a nucleus for this generation, a place to go to. Making the connections with the other young groups in the Tampa area.
