Who Has The Best Cuban?

Taste the best Cuban sandwiches in Florida and meet the winners of this year's Cuban Sandwich Festival at the special awards presentation Saturday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at the Hillsborough Community College Ybor City campus, 2112 N. 15th St., Tampa.

Soho Food Truck Rally Returns

Get ready to chow down. The Soho Food Truck Rally returns to to MacDinton's Irish Pub 405 S. Howard Ave., Tampa, Saturday, July 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. The rally will feature old favorites as well as some new offerings. 

Anime Fans Unite

The 11th annual Metrocon festival runs from Friday, July 26 at noon to Sunday, July 28 at 3 p.m. at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin St., Tampa. The festival features such events as the Anime Human Chess Match, the Fantasy Masquerade and the Metro Star Party. 

Art On The House

The Tampa Museum of Art, 120 W. Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa, offers Art on the House each Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.  Art on the House provides access to the museum galleries free of charge. 

Art After Dark

The Dubliner, 2307 W. Azeele St., Tampa, hosts Art After Dark each Sunday from 6 to 10 p.m. The event features craft beer, an art show, art demonstrations and live music.

At The Straz

The Straz Center, 1010 N. Macinnes Place, Tampa, will present Fighting God Saturday, July 27 at 8 p.m. Fighting God tells the story of two brothers, Quincy and Elton, who witness their mother’s tragic death as children and go on to defy the odds by becoming successful lawyers. Tickets are $30.

PAWgaritaville Adoption Event

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, 3607 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, will be transformed into a Caribbean paradise complete with cool drinks, hot music and delicious food Saturday, July 27 from noon to 4 p.m. The event will include activities for kids, food trucks, a DJ and 50 percent off adoption fees for all pets. Harbour Island Art Walk

The Harbour Island Art Walk will take place Sunday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. between That's Amore and Cafe DuFrain. The event will feature artists displaying paintings, metal work, jewelry, photographs, art glass, pottery, woodwork along with a kid's art activity area and live music.

Just For Laughs

Post Dinner Conversation will host an Improv Comedy Night Friday, July 26 at 8 p.m. at The Roosevelt 2.0, 1812 N. 15th St., Tampa. Tickets are $5 at the door. 

Come at 6 p.m. for a dinner of $6 tapas, organic wine and bottled beers. 

An Evening Of Sinatra

The Ritz Ybor, 1503 E. 7th Ave., Tampa, will host its 16th annual Sinatra Celebration featuring dancing to the sounds of a big-band orchestra on the main stage and a Latin quartet in the Copa Room. There will be passed hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, gaming, cigars and valet parking. Tickets are $50 per person and $125 for reserved seating. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Straz Center.

Tampa Zine Fest

Local creators are invited to share their zines, DIY publications that can cover any subject, from personal experiences, to art to politics to music Saturday, July 27 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Tampa Zine Fest at the Roosevelt 2.0, 1812 N. 15th St., Tampa.

Along with zines, there will be live music, readings and workshops.

The event is free to both tablers and attendees, but donations of zines for a future Tampa zine library will be accepted.

Ultimate Scavenger Challenge

The seventh annual Quest4Hope scavenger hunt will take participants through Ybor City bars, shops and restaurants Saturday, July 27 starting at 7 p.m. Teams use GPS-enabled smart phones to find the venues, uncover clues and perform challenges. An after party and awards ceremony will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. The hunt begins and ends at the Italian Club. Funds raised will benefit the 1 Voice Foundation and the Florida Aquarium. Groovin' To Latin Jazz

Gumbi Ortiz and New Groove City will perform Latin jazz Saturday, July 27 at 11 p.m. at Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant, 2500 W. Azeele Ave., Tampa. Tere is no cover charge. 

Halfway To Gasparilla Pub Crawl

The 12th Annual Halfway to Gasparilla Pub Crawl will take place Saturday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. at The Honey Pot, 1507 E. 7th Ave., Ybor City. Signifying the halfway point to the Gasparilla celebration, crawlers are encouraged to dress in pirate garb as they visit several Ybor City drinking establishments, with money raised going to the Meals on Wheels charity. The cost is $20 for those wearing pirate-themed costumes, $30 for those not wearing a costume. Call 813-247-4663.

Come to the Jan Platt Regional Library, 3910 S. Manhattan Ave., Tampa, Saturday, July 27 at 2 p.m. for a special appearance by author John D'Amore as he reads from his novel, The Boss Always Sits in the Back. The story reveals the demise of the mobsters who ran northern New Jersey as told by someone who was there.

Enjoy Some Strangelove

The Tampa Theatre’s Summer Classics series continues this Sunday, July 28, at 3 p.m. with a showing of Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. The 1964 classic satire stars Peter Sellers and George C. Scott.

Outdoor Movie Night

Tate's Pizzeria & Sports Bar, 927 S. Howard Ave., Tampa, hosts an outdoor movie night each Thursday and Friday night on its 12-foot movie screen.

Saturday Storytime

Downtown Sunday Market

The Tampa Downtown Sunday Market is held each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 600 and 700 blocks of Franklin Street. More than 50 vendors sell produce, art, specialty food and crafts.

Cycling and Social

The Tampa Bay Running Club hosts a cycle and social each Sunday at 4 p.m. starting from Marjorie Park Marina, 97 Columbia Dr., Tampa.
