The event will take place Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Palladium Theatre in St. Petersburg.

Looking for something to do this weekend?

It's worth the drive to St. Petersburg to check out the Floridiana Festival and Highway Artist Show Sunday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Palladium Theatre.

From vintage Weeki Wachee mermaid memorabilia to tacky Sunshine State souvenirs, the show celebrates the lighter side of Florida's cultural and historical legacy.

The show will include appearances by the legendary Florida Highwaymen, a group of 26 African-American artists who began painting in the 1950s and 60s, traveling Florida's highways and selling freshly rendered paintings from the trunks of their cars.
