South Tampa Welcomes Small Fry Society

Are you interested in doing something creative with your little one?

Amy Lundy knew that lots of "Mommy & me" types of events were held in the South Tampa area. But they often left her wanting a little something more.

So, she put her marketing and event-planning experience to use and created Small Fry Society.

“My goal is to create a real sense of community among mothers, their babies, the businesses supporting Small Fry Society, and the broader Tampa Bay area. We can all be a vital support system to one another,” Lundy said.

Small Fry Society is a six-week program that offers a series of activities that Mom can do with her little one. These socials are hosted by businesses throughout the South Tampa area. Local merchants include: Lucky Cat Yoga, Color Me Mine (a place to “unleash your inner artist”), Yogurtology and Amore (a catering company who prides themselves on creating healthy and reasonable meals for families).

The socials also include informational sessions about baby-proofing, nutrition, fitness, lifestyle, make-up, and cooking. There’s even a family sleep-schedule specialist, Shari Mezrah, scheduled to be at one of the socials.

Small Fry Society also features a Girl’s Night Out. This event, hosted by Neiman Marcus, offers a mini-makeover, treats, light bites and cocktails.

Interested in participating, but work 9-5?

Want to participate, but still expecting?

Lundy looks to extend Small Fry Society to both working and expectant mothers. In fact, interested moms can sign up online to participate in the “Bun in the Oven Bunch.”

Equally important to Lundy is the opportunity she has to help out local businesses using Small Fry Society. The program offers exposure for area businesses and it provides an opportunity to connect with families in South Tampa.

The premiere Small Fry Society social will be held Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lucky Cat Yoga studio. Lunch will be provided by Amore. The group will then meet weekly through Oct. 26.

The $199 price tag – about $24 per event – includes a breakfast social, six lunch socials, a Girls’ Night Out and the opportunity to win giveaways.

Interested moms can also check out Small Fry Society before committing to the six-week program. For $20, moms can participate in the Girl’s Night Out event on Oct. 25. If interested, the $20 will then be deducted from the sign-up fee for the six-week program.
