Reader's Spotlight: Children With Cancer to Enjoy Day of Pampering

Twelve girls who either have cancer or have battled cancer, along with their mothers, will be chauffered to Neiman Marcus at International Plaza Sunday.

Twelve young girls who have either battled cancer or are now battling cancer will receive a much-deserved day of pampering Sunday at Neiman Marcus in International Plaza.

With the help of Neiman Marcus, Mercedes-Benz and Bright House Networks, the Pediatric Cancer Foundation will treat the girls to an ultimate day of pampering from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 10.

According to an announcement posted by Jourdan Tanner, the girls and their mothers will be picked up in Mercedes-Benz vehicles and chauffeured to Neiman Marcus where members of the Junior League of Tampa will greet the girls.

The girls will receive manicures, makeovers, lunch, goodie bags and will choose outfits to wear during their runway debuts at the 10th annual Veredus Fashion Funds the Cure, a fundraising fashion show benefiting PCF.

The show, also sponsored by Neiman Marcus, Mercedes-Benz and Bright House Networks, will be held Saturday, March 9 at the Tampa International Jet Center, Hangar #4.

Carson Kressley will serve as the celebrity host again this year.

Kressley was the fashion expert on the American television program Queer Eye. He was also the motivational host of the TV show How to Look Good Naked and OWN's Carson Nation.

The Pediatric Cancer Foundation, located at 5550 Executive Dr., #300, Tampa,  is a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research to eliminate childhood cancer.
