Murals for Mutts Unveils Artwork at Animal Coalition Headquarters

The nonprofit has created a new mural at ACT on Gilchrist Avenue.

Murals for Mutts Inc. has turned its attention to the walls of the Animal Coalition of Tampa headquarters at 502 N. Gilchrist Ave., Tampa.

Murals for Mutts raises money for animal welfare by painting pet portraits and pet murals in communities around the country.

On the heels of her success painting animal murals in Dunedin, Gulfport, Largo and St. Petersburg., artist Anna Hamilton is now concentrating her talents on Hillsborough County.

Among her first paintings at ACT is one in honor of Blackie.

“Blackie is the feral cat that found me before I knew that all cats did not have warm, loving, safe homes," said Linda Hamilton, executive director of ACT. "Through a circuitous route to change his fate, Animal Coalition of Tampa was born.”

Blackie’s portrait along with other clinic cats and dogs as well as a portrait of Jasmin Kung, the ultimate feral cat advocate and volunteer, now decorated the walls of the nonprofit for pets.

If you would like to see your pet’s portrait on the ART for ACT mural, contact Dawn at muralsformutts@gmail.com or 727-902-1671. The fee is $125 per portrait. Murals for Mutts will donate $25 of the fee directly back to ACT.
