Local Real Estate Agent Receives Hero of the Year Award

Christina Griffin, a sales associate at Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in South Tampa, received the award for her service to the homeless.

A South Tampa real estate agent has received the Coldwell Banker Hero of the Year award for her work with Tampa's homeless.

Christina Griffin, a sales associate at Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in South Tampa, was presented the newly created annual award for her exceptional service to charitable causes that make her community a better place to live.

Griffin was recognized for organizing the Tampa Bay CARES Walk for the Homeless, a 5K walk for families who have lost their homes due to foreclosure.

Her goal was to increase community awareness of the available options for displaced homeowners and tenants and raise money for Tampa Bay homeless organizations, including Metropolitan Ministries, Safe Harbor, Clothes 2 Kids, Pinellas Hope, the Homeless Coalition and Trinity Café. 

Griffin has been working in the Tampa Bay housing market for more than 10 years. She is a member of the Coldwell Banker Society of Excellence, which represents the top 1 percent of all Coldwell Banker agents worldwide. She was also recognized as one of the top 10 sales associates internationally in total units sold in 2012, a designation she has received for three consecutive years.
