Old Hyde Park Home Tour Is Sunday

Meet former Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio, have lunch at Sophie's French Bakery and Café, and tour six historic homes in Old Hyde Park on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Tour beautiful historic homes almost 100 years old as you walk along Willow Avenue under the camphor trees between Bayshore Boulevard and Swann Avenue.

You'll find an interesting blend of the old and new as you tour six of South Tampa’s original homes built between 1913 and 1924 during the from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

The tour, hosted by Hyde Park Preservation Inc., starts outside , 902 S Orleans Ave.

Tickets $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Credit cards are not accepted at the event, so make sure to bring cash with you.

To purchase tickets in advance, mail a check written to: Hyde Park Preservation Inc., c/o 805 S. Willow Ave., Tampa, FL 33606.

Advance sale price will be honored up until Saturday, Dec. 3. No tickets or correspondence will be mailed back. Your name will be put on the list…and wristbands will be picked up at the registration table the day of the event.

Participants are also invited to enjoy lunch before the tour from 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sophie’s French Bakery and Café, 1633 W Snow Ave. in Hyde Park Village.

Tour tickets will be available for purchase at regular price at the bakery the day of the event. 

The $10.95 box lunch special includes: a jambon sandwich (baguette, ham, and butter), two French macaroons, a bag of chips, freshly brewed hot or iced coffee and tea.

Former City of Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio will have a book signing at 10 a.m. that morning at Sophie’s, too.

Hyde Park Preservation, Inc. (HPPI), a 501(c) non-profit, is dedicated to the historic preservation, rehabilitation and development of Old Hyde Park, and is a neighborhood association officially recognized by the City of Tampa for this purpose.
