County Fire Rescue Celebrating 40th Anniversary

The event will be on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is hosting its 40th anniversary at the emergency operations center next week.

The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Emergency Operations Center, 2711 E. Hanna Avenue in Tampa, and is hosted by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.

Since August 27, 1973, HCFR has provided quality and timely emergency services to enhance public safety through education and emergency planning initiatives.

HCFR serves more than 990,000 citizens and responds to more than 80,000 calls per year, and provides more than 37,000 medical transports to hospitals each year.

They also conduct more than 34,000 fire inspections annually and educate more than 2,000 citizens per month.
