DESCRIPTION:Jobsite Theater presents "Closetland" by Radha Bharadwaj\, ba
sed on her 1991 screenplay about a man who purports to be a government
representative and his interrogation of the female author of a childre
 n's story.\nThe theater says: "Powerful and terrifying\, 'Closetland' u
ltimately links political\, state-sponsored violence with intimate\, pe
rsonal abuse\, asserting that both forms of violence stem from the same
root. It captures the psychological landscape of those who engage in t
orture and aggression\, while also defining the nature of courage and r
esistance. Its gripping\, unflinching scrutiny of both\, and its sweep
and power\, captures the nature of violence\, and violence against a wo
man\, in particular\, without resorting to exploitative gore. You will
leave with a deeper understanding of why some human beings violate othe
rs &mdash\; and why some manage to soar above the abuse."\nNOTE: Jobsite
is accepting new children's clothing\, personal hygiene products\, dia
pers\, and health and beauty aids in front of the theater about an hour
before each performance. The items are being collected on behalf of Th
 e Spring of Tampa Bay\, a local domestic-violence shelter.
