Hello, I wanted to give some simple crime prevention advice to everyone.

1.  Pay attention to your surroundings and listen to your instincts. If something has "raised" your concern, it is something worth reporting. Call Tampa Police by calling 9-1-1 or our Non-Emergency Dispatch at 813-231-6130.

2.  Lock your vehicle doors and keep valuables out of sight. Items like purses, laptops and GPS devices get stolen more than they should ... don't tempt a thief!

3.  Keep your garage door closed. Believe it or not, homes have been entered and items stolen while the owner was in the back yard or even in the house. Bicycles and lawn equipment are quick and easy targets in an open garage.  

4.  If you have an alarm system in your vehicle and home, use them ... everytime!
