What Do You Recommend at Mad Dogs and Englishmen

What's your favorite menu item at Mad Dog's and Englishmen?

What Do You Recommend?" is an occasional feature that asks Patch readers to weigh in on their favorite menu items at local restaurants and bars.

For more than 20 years, locally owned Mad Dogs and Englishmen has served South Tampa in a style of its own. Named after a famous Noel Coward song, the pub's sense of history and style give it a unique flavor that can't be found anywhere else in the city of Tampa.

The food at Mad Dogs is eclectic in nature, ranging from Asian dumplings to grilled pizza or bangers and mash. The style is gourmet and the setting casual, a good fit for South Tampa and a big part of the reason this local classic has done so well over the years.

So, we want to know what you think. If someone's visiting for the first time, what do they HAVE to try? Post your menu picks in the comment section below.

The entire menu at Maddogs & Englishmen is top notch. For a first time guest, I would suggest the tuna tar-tar followed by the Cocoa-cumin Pork Chop. Try the homemade ice cream when you're done.
Maddogs is an outstanding South Tampa choice for dinner.

I agree. Last time I was there I had a steak sandwich. It was an excellent choice to go with their fine list of beers on tap.
