U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Offering Free Vessel Safety Checks
The checks are this coming weekend.
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering free vessel safety checks on Saturday, Jan. 19 and Sunday, Jan. 20 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The purpose? To avoid boat equipment citations next weekend during Gasparilla.
The checks, which focus on items such as life jackets and emergency devices, take about 15 minutes.
The checks will be held at the Salty Sol Fleischman (Gandy) Boat Ramp, 5108 W. Gandy Boulevard.
