TPD: Only One Arrest Made in Demonstrations
The Tampa Police Department made only one arrest today as demonstrators marched from north of downtown to the edge of the event zone.
The Security Coalition monitoring RNC demonstrations made one arrest on Monday after a man was warned that he couldn't wear a mask in a protest area.
Officers warned the man that he couldn't cover his face with a bandana, something that is prohibited in the protest area due to the fact that individuals covering their faces in such a manner have historically been involved with criminal activity and property damage at previous events.
The warning went out to all protesters, all of which complied except for this one unidentified male according to a TPD release on their Facebook page.
The statement also denied rumors that a Tampa Police bicycle officer "rammed" a woman taking pictures of the events, calling it "completely false".
