Thieves Score Car, Championship Ring and More

Here is a look back at the District 1 crime blotter for the past week.

 

Sunday September 9

  • Thieves stole a silver 2000 Dodge Intrepid four door sedan from the 7000 block of Interbay Boulevard, fleeing undetected. The vehicle has a Florida plate number, 279 JHI.
  • A woman was moving out of her residence in the 3100 block of Bay Vista Avenue West when she left the house unlocked while moving some of her stuff to her new residence. Upon returning, she discovered her 1977 Puch scooter and her vacuum missing.

Monday September 10

  • A man in the 3900 block of West De Leon Street had his State Championship lacrosse ring from a high school in Denver stolen from the center console of his unlocked car. The ring is valued at $150.

Tuesday September 11

  • A man and an acquaintance met and went to the listed location so that the acquaintance could obtain money owed to him from an unknown third party. Upon their arrival at the location in the 3200 block of West De Leon Street, the unknown third party made contact with the victim and acquaintance through the driver door window at which time, the acquaintance and the third party began attacking the victim who was in the driver seat. At some point during the altercation the assailants entered the victim's pockets and removed $2,300 in cash and his I-Phone. The victim maintained additional cash in his pocket. The unknown third party and acquaintance then fled the scene on foot. The I-Phone was located by police in a dumpster at 217 South Dale Mabry. The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital and has prior narcotics history and dealing in stolen property.
