Video: Special Operations Forces Stage Mock Attack on South Tampa
Special Operations Forces staged a mock attack by the Tampa Convention Center.
Hundreds of folks gathered by the Hillsborough Bay on Bayshore Boulevard, Davis Islands and Harbour Island to watch the Special Operations Forces' mock attack on South Tampa on Wednesday, May 23.
The U.S. Special Operations Command is hosting a week-long International Special Operations Forces (SOF) conference that began Tuesday.
Commander Adm. William McRaven invited SOF delegates from 96 nations to the Tampa Convention Center for a conference focused on “Building the Global SOF Partnership.”
A highlight of the conference has been the SOF demonstration, featuring operators from a dozen countries “assaulting” mock enemy positions and rescuing “hostages” by land, water and air next to the convention center in downtown Tampa.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was the keynote speaker at the International Special Operations Forces Week conference dinner last night, according to ABC Action News.
