Showers Likely in the Week Ahead

A look at the National Weather Service's forecast shows a likelihood of heavy rains this week for the Tampa Bay area.

 

Tampa residents can expect a wet week ahead once again as summer inches closer to its end.

According to the National Weather Service, chances of thunderstorms will remain over 50% through Wednesday, with showers particularly likely in the afternoon and early evening hours. Rain amounts could reach up to a quarter of an inch.

Residents may want to tie up patio furniture and loose outdoor items as winds could reach up to 30 mph on Tuesday.

Rain chances will dissipate on Thursday but increase again on Friday, with light winds in the 5-10 mph range throughout the week.

Temperatures will be in the mid to high 80s during the day time throughout the week and dip into the mid to low 70s in the evening.
