First Mayor's Food Truck Fiesta a Success

Check out these snapshots from Wednesday's first Mayor's Food Truck Fiesta in downtown.

Franklin Street in downtown Tampa, between Madison Street and Kennedy Boulevard, was transformed into the trendiest place to grab a bite during lunchtime on Wednesday.

Hundreds stood in long lines to get a meal from some of the most popular food trucks in the area, as Mayor Bob Buckhorn kicked off the first .

Folks got to choose among specialties from the Taco Bus, Gone Bananas, Burger Culture, Killer Samich, Fat Tortillas, Jerk Hut, Coconut Bo's, Nelly Nel's, Fire Monkey, and Wicked 'Wiches.

The idea for a food truck rally in downtown came about after Mayor Buckhorn attended earlier in the year.

The Mayor's Food Truck Fiesta will be held the first Wednesday of every month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature different food trucks each month.
