Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Lightning Employees Cleaning Riverfront

The cleanup will occur today at Cotanchobee Park and the riverfront, according to officials at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Tampa Bay Lightning employees are pitching in to clean up Cotanchobee Park and the riverfront today as part of the C.H.A.R.G.E. program and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, according to a news release from officials at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

The cleanup begins at 10 a.m. Thunderbug and Mayor Bob Buckhorn will make appearances around 11 a.m. at the park, 601 Old Water Street, the release said.

The C.H.A.R.G.E. program - Contributing Volunteer Hours Across Our Region Through Our Generous Employees - began in 2011, and provides employees of Tampa Bay Sports & Entertainment with volunteering opportunities for local nonprofits.
