Sustainable Landscape Design Workshop Offered

Folks can learn about Florida-friendly landscaping during a seven-week workshop starting in January, 2012.

From City of Tampa Online:

Hillsborough County Extension is offering a seven-week workshop series on sustainable landscape design basics. Classes will be held at the Extension office on Tuesdays starting Jan. 10, 2012 running through Feb. 21, 2012. The class is from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday each week.

Course content includes: Florida-friendly landscaping, landscape design principles and themes, sustainable landscape materials, characteristics and composition of plant materials, use and importance of color, drawing a planting plan, and maintenance.

The fee is $25 per household for the entire series which covers the cost of materials. Please bring your own water and snacks. Workshop series is limited to 25 people. Sign up online at http://landscapeforbeginners2012.eventbrite.com/.
